Ole Lorec Ranch Desk

Here is an office desk from Lorec Ranch that I completely refinished. The old wax finish was cheap, very soft, and offered very poor protection to the wood. I had to put a stop to this! First I used a citrus based wood cleaner to strip the wax. Lots of clean rags and patience does the trick!     Then I decided to re-stain the wood with a wood floor stain and sealer in one. Photo credit: Pottery Barn The Homeowners were tired of the plain black top, so they called me to see what in the world they could do with it. The color red crossed their minds, but when I saw their decor and room color I immediately thought that red would be too loud. I suggested that they keep the bottom of the table black and turn the top back into the original wood color. I also suggested possibly a brown...
